Description:
Heartwood and sapwood are similar, with sapwood lighter in color; most pieces have a reddish tone. The floor is more red and lighter than white oak. Ralph's uses a northern oak which has a more uniform color and grain than southern or Appalachian oak.
Light Sensitivity:
Ambers over time.
Size and Grade Availability:
Standard widths are 2 1/4, 3 1/4" in a select or common grade. It is also available in a random width plank in a select or rustic grade.
Comments:
Accepts stain easily.

Northern: 1290 (Benchmark)
Dimensional Stability:
Above Average (8.6).
Origin:
Northern Wisconsin.
