Custom Hardwood Floors: Beautiful,Valuable, Unique

Rod Lorenz

A couple we served, Mark and Michelle, recently shared this nice message with us: “We were so happy with the helpful staff at Ralph’s. We were in love with our floor the minute we came home to it.”

We take great pride in having Mark and Michelle mention us as part of the reason for their gratitude, but we also realize that the nature of hardwood flooring itself had a lot to do with it. People love hardwood floors for many reasons.

Beauty

Hardwood floors are classic and beautiful. They can be the centerpiece of your home—making you happy when you walk in the door and grabbing the attention of guests.

Character

Hardwood flooring exudes personality. With custom hardwood floors, you can express your own unique taste. No matter which type of hardwood you choose, its natural beauty will bring style and depth to your interior design.

Longevity

Hardwood floors have a timeless appeal that never goes out of style, are easy to maintain, and can be refinished to look good as new if needed (which should be many years after they’re installed.)  They’re a legacy that will last for generations.

Value

The beauty and durability of hardwood floors make them an investment. Just ask a Realtor—gorgeous hardwood flooring helps homes sell (or rent) faster and for more.

Health

Hardwood flooring improves indoor air quality and does not harbor harmful bacteria or microorganisms from outside. The common pests of mold, dust, and animal dander are brought to a minimum.

Working Together to Create Floors You Love

Even with all their intrinsic benefits, the way in which hardwood floors are installed is also vital. That’s why we were so happy to hear that Mark and Michelle appreciated the way we worked with them to make their hardwood flooring as beautiful and enjoyable to them as possible.

If you’re investing in hardwood floors, you need a company with the expertise and experience of Ralph’s. But as we’re working for you, we also need your thoughts, tastes, and goals to understand the look you want. We won’t rest until you have the floors of your dreams.

Carefully select the look you want

Don’t settle for a look that’s close to what you want but not quite right. There’s a wide world of hardwood floor options, and you can get exactly what you want—type of wood, color, texture, board dimensions, etc.

Consider your lifestyle and home conditions

Certain types of wood and finishes are more durable than others. If your floors will see a lot of rough use—from children, pets, or entertaining—then it’s usually best to pick more-durable options (e.g., harder woods, long-lasting finishes).

In homes in moist environments, it pays to avoid woods that are the most likely to expand and contract due to moisture changes. In many cases, engineered hardwood flooring is selected for moist conditions because it is highly stable. (In flooring over a concrete slab or in an underground room, engineered flooring is the only viable option).

Visit a showroom that displays a wide range of options

Websites and magazines can be helpful, but they’re no substitute for a visit to a showroom. You should see, feel, and walk on the flooring you’re considering.

We’re glad to consult with you when you visit our recently remodeled showroom, which features an extensive collection of different woods, finishes, colors, and styles for you to explore.

Don’t necessarily take the “low-cost” option

The lowest-cost decision is frequently not the highest-value decision. When faced with cost decisions, ask yourself: How much will my choice affect my enjoyment of my hardwood floors? To save a few bucks, is it worth living with something that will bother you for years?

Hire a proven hardwood floor company

Of course, we want you to pick Ralph’s. But even if you don’t, we encourage you to pick a company like us that has a long track record of customer satisfaction. If it’s not right for you, you need someone who will happily and consciously step up to make it right.
