Wood Look Floors for your Bathroom

Rod Lorenz

Moisture, steam, puddles, overflows and splashing take a toll on your bathroom floor and so despite how amazing wood can look, most people are reluctant to use it. But what if you really want that wood look - do you have any options?

The answer is definitely yes. Luxury Vinyl provides an amazing alternative to real hardwood and can also provide the wood look you are looking for.

Luxury Vinyl Tile

Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) is a waterproof and cost-effective flooring material that can be made to strikingly resemble stone or wood. It is extremely durable and resistant to scratches and other damage, especially moisture. So, you won’t have to worry about water getting into your floors!

Luxury Vinyl Plank

Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) is also completely water-resistant if installed correctly. If there is a drawback comparing LVP to LVT, this is it. If a luxury vinyl plank floor is not installed correctly,  moisture can get in any gaps between the planks. Eventually this moisture can lead to mold or mildew growth. As expert installers, we avoid this by applying glue or caulk around the edges of the planks to ensure the water can’t slip through the gaps. As well we add an underlayer to act as a barrier between the laminate and the subfloor.

Warm, Textured & Quiet

Luxury Vinyl stays much closer to room temperature making it warmer than stone or tile, so walking with bare feet will be more pleasant. For a little added traction, you can also choose from many varieties that have wood-like textures. This not only reduces slips but also helps get that realistic wood look you desire.

With all the hard surfaces, bathrooms are notoriously loud spaces. Common bathroom building products like porcelain, marble and stone have low sound-absorbing properties and cause sound to echo. Luxury vinyl floors are softer and absorb sounds much better.

To complete the look on your LVT bathroom floor, bath mats with a non-slip backing add an extra layer of plush softness and help to keep the floor dry as you step out of the bath or from the shower.
